Instant Access to Websites with your iPhone and iPad
The iPhones Safari browser is nice and quick. What isnt quick is typing in a web address-- it takes longer to tap-tap-tap http://christianboyce.blogspot.com into Safari than it does to read the articles when you get there. There are ways to make getting to websites in Safari quicker; here are two of the best. The second ones better than the first but read the whole thing anyway.
First, use the bookmarks. The icon looks like an open book, at the bottom of the Safari app (circled in red below). Tap that button and youre on your way. Of course, you have to get bookmarks into your iPhone. The easy way: set them up in Safari on your Mac, check the box in iTunes to synchronize bookmarks, and sync. Or add them via the Share button on your iPhone (keep reading).
Having bookmarks makes using Safari on your iPhone a lot easier-- just tap Safari, tap the Bookmarks button, scroll around through the folders and eventually you find what youre looking for and then you tap that. Whew. Not easy enough.
Heres the right way: add icons for your favorite websites to your Home screen so you can load them in one tap. Actually, make that "Home screens." As long as there is room for another icon on one of your Home screens this tip works. When theres no more room, you cant use this tip.
So how do we do it? Easily, thats how:
1. Go to the web page that you want to make an icon for.
2. Tap the "Share" button (just to the left of the bookmarks button). Youll get this screen:
You want "Add to Home Screen." Choose that, and you get this:
Like they say-- "An icon will be added to your home screen so you can quickly access this web site." Adjust the name as desired (more on that later) and tap the blue "Add" button. Thats it. Heres how your Home screen might look after adding this site:
One tap on that red-circled icon and you go straight to the web page. Pretty neat, but not actually pretty. Theres room for improvement. Two tricks: first, before adding the icon to the Home screen, stretch the web page until youre looking at exactly what you want the icon to look like. Heres an example, using http://christianboyce.blogspot.com:

NOW when you hit that "Share" button your icon will look pretty good, depending of course on whos looking. Mom likes this one.
The second thing to do is to keep the name short. As we saw above, "The Boyce Blog" turned into "The Bo... Blog"-- sounds a little stinky. Shorten up the name and youll end up with something that fits, as seen below.
Next time you want to go to the Boyce Blog, poke that icon in the nose and the page will come right up.
(Bonus: to get rid of an icon just touch it and hold it until it wiggles. Then tap the circled X in the top left corner of the icon. Double-bonus: this whole thing works for iPads too.)

In the next few days, we’re rolling this out to English-language users around the world on Android with Froyo (version 2.2) and on iOS devices (version 3.0+) including the iPad. We’ll be adding support for other languages soon. And as before, we also support editing of spreadsheets from your mobile device’s browser.

How To Install and Activate Your BBM on Your iPhone and Android
By now, almost everyone knows that BBM for Android and iPhones is already available for some in some parts of the world and will be available to others within days.
If you had downloaded yours on your device but dont know how to get it activated, follow the steps in this guide.
Requirements
1. BlackBerry ID which you can register from here

Procedures
1. The first thing is to download the app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store depending on your device type.
2. After downloading and installing, launch the BBM app and you will be presented with a screen to enter your Email address if you initially registered an email to be among the first people to get the app. On doing this, you would get the above screen.
3. If you have a BlackBerry ID, input it in the provided space. If you dont, register a new one.
Note: entering the same BlackBerry ID on another BBM account will log you out from BBM on the initial BlackBerry phone. Therefore, if you wish to have BBM work on your multiple devices, you would need to have separate BlackBerry ID on all your devices.
4. On successfully signing in with your BlackBerry ID, you will get your pin which you can use to invite friends or continue to BBM as seen in the image below.
5. Now you can start using your BBM immediately, put your profile display and personal message as you wish.

Maximum security for your Android with Google Authenticator
Google Authenticator was a security application that already had over 250,000 downloads in Google Play. However, a few days ago Google removed the app and instead launched a new "version", which is actually a new application with the same functionality as before but with several additions and improvements.
The current application is Google Authenticator and in its list of new features:
- New entry for Google Play, the same great app
- Improvements in the interface and the ease of use
- The options for scanning barcodes and manually add an account have been moved to Menu> Add Account .
What this app does is generate codes for two-step verification on your phone, which can add a measure of safety for your Google Account to access with a code generated by this application and your password.
The problem is that this application is completely disconnected from its predecessor, which means youll have to install and remove the previous version since this application is authenticator2, while the former was authenticator.

- Support for multiple accounts
- Support for multiple languages
To use this application, you must first enable two-step verification on your Google Account. This requires you to go to the configuration page of your account.
If you install the v2 before v1 uninstall and then run it, you get a dialog box to migrate the tokens and then uninstall the version offered is obsolete. Thats fine, but I wonder would it not have been better an update instead of a whole new application? So far I have not found many differences that justiquen.

Google Authenticator and can be downloaded from Google Play for free. This application requires Android 2.1 or higher, and so far, after 50 grades, has an average score of 5.0 out of 5.0. Not bad!
